History of NMBSS

The 5th Convention of Nepal Magar Association was held in 2051 under the coordinator ship of the chairperson of Nepal Magar Association late Gore Bahadur Khapangi Magar, the Magar Buddhist Service Society, Ad hoc Committee formed in 2053, under the chairmanship of ex teacher late Tej Bahadur Rana Magar.
In 2055, Ashvin 1-3, the first International Magar Conference was held in Jhapa, Birtamod. 4 papers on religion of Magar were presented by M. S. Thapa, Keshar J. Baral, Dal Bahadur Thapa Magar and Karna Bahadur Bathaa Magar. Among them, the paper of M. S. Thapa was approved unanimously by the hall by concluding that the original religion of Magars is Buddhist and now onwards, the rituals functions should be performed based on the Buddhism.
The 7th Convention of NMA, held in Dharan, Sunsari approved the decision of the International Magar Conference mentioned above.
Right after the one month of the 7th Convention of NMA, the first convention of Magar Buddhist Service Society was organized in Kathmandu from 2057, Chaitra 28-30 and this convention completely formed the Nepal Magar Buddhist Service Society in full-fledged. The Convention selected/elected Capt. Deo Bahadur Rana Magar as the chairman who is leading up to now.
